The Clos des Ormes, located in the ZAC Sycomore eco-district in Bussy-Saint-Georges, illustrates an ambitious transformation of a former agricultural area into a modern, environmentally-friendly residential neighbourhood. The project covers an area of 16,000 m², with particular attention paid to preserving biodiversity and ensuring the well-being of residents. It offers a mix of 169 homes – collective, intermediate, detached and grouped – all designed in line with the principles of sustainability and aesthetic
‘This project is a perfect example of our ability to manage complete lots for large-scale construction projects. With 169 homes and several thousand square metres of timber structures, it’s a major reference for Rubner. The complexity of designing and building in several phases while maintaining a high level of consistency and quality was an exciting challenge. It was an opportunity to showcase our expertise in timber structures and cladding, and to strengthen our position in the sustainable construction sector.’
Emmanuel Duval, Works Manager.
We played a leading role in the completion of this project, reinforcing its position as a leader in green construction with the delivery of a major development of 169 homes comprising several thousand square metres of timber elements: 13,237 m2 of timber-framed walls, 7,000 m² of timber cladding and 3,670 m² of timber flooring. This large-scale operation required several designs for the same project, divided into 4 distinct phases:
- Complete project with all-wood, 2-storey intermediate housing
- Collective housing with FOB
- Individual houses with timber-framed walls (MOB)
- Exterior wood cladding
This complete package testifies to Rubner’s technical expertise and its ability to meet high standards in terms of design and ecological functionality.
The project was handed over in April 2024
