The Technische Hochschule Rosenheim is being expanded with an innovative technology center and a student center on the site of the former Bodensiedlung.
The technology center will house research and teaching laboratories, as well as machine halls, while the student center will consolidate all student-related services. A Digital Learning Center is planned here—keyword: Smart Library—along with space for various learning environments. Additionally, a modern cafeteria is planned.
The Bavarian Ministry of Science has commissioned this major project, which aims to create excellent conditions for future teaching and research while also setting new standards in sustainable construction. The project is being funded by the Bavarian State Government as part of the technology offensive “Hightech Agenda Bayern” and is being realized by the State Building Authority Rosenheim.
The contract has been awarded to the “Consortium TH Rosenheim,” consisting of HOCHTIEF Infrastructure GmbH and Rubner Holzbau GmbH, a total contractor joint venture with extensive experience in executing large construction projects.
Through a timber construction method with mostly visible wooden structures, a high degree of prefabrication, flexible planning, economical use of materials, and comprehensive landscape planning focusing on biodiversity, the future complex on the site of the former Bodensiedlung aims to become a showcase project for modern university construction.
