Once a Blockhaus, always a Blockhaus

Project Val d'Ultimo

For Helga and Hans, wood is more than a building material. It is a way of living. After many years in a Blockhaus in the centre of San Pancrazio, in South Tyrol’s Val d’Ultimo, the decision for their new home came naturally: it would once again be built in solid timber.

The decision was rooted in experience. They appreciated the natural living environment, the consistently pleasant indoor climate and the timeless character that wood brings to a home. Qualities that continue to shape their everyday life and ultimately inspired the choice for their new house.

The priorities for the new architecture were clear: spacious, fluid environments flooded with natural light.

The result is an elegant Blockhaus developed on a single level, featuring a striking exposed timber roof, large glass surfaces, and an open-plan living area.

The exposed wood is the absolute protagonist of every room, enveloping anyone who enters a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Alongside aesthetics and well-being, the project was designed with a forward-looking vision. The entire home was conceived without architectural barriers:

all rooms are located on the same floor, and the generous dimensions of the hallways and doors guarantee maximum accessibility and comfort for years to come.

In Rubner Haus, Helga and Hans found the ideal partners. A dedicated team of experts who supported them from the very first stages of planning and preparation.

Thanks to a structured network of professionals and the turnkey finishing service, the couple was able to experience the entire building process with confidence and peace of mind.

With this new project, the homeowners have confirmed their deep
connection to sustainable building,
perfectly summarized in their motto:

“Once you experience a Blockhaus, you never look back.”
