The Sweetest Light at Dawn
Project Cremona
Nestled in the countryside just outside Cremona, Sara and Paolo’s new timber home embodies a modern, sustainable way of living.
A bright oasis designed to embrace their lifestyle, passions, and three stunning Norwegian Forest Cats.

As dedicated marathoners and trail runners, choosing a Rubner Haus was an intuitive decision:
a place to breathe, restore balance, and escape the stress of daily life.

Paolo and Sara, homeowners
Designed in close collaboration with architect Matteo Faroldi, the house features an open-plan ground floor divided into functional “islands”, offering direct access to the large garden from almost every side.
The architectural language pays homage to the traditional barns of ancient local farmhouse estates, visible in the design of the veranda and dining room. A striking stone-clad wall – strongly desired by Paolo – cuts through the property, beautifully dividing the indoor and outdoor spaces.
The heart of the home is the breakfast island, where Sara and Paolo watch the sunrise after their morning run.
Here, expansive windows blur the boundaries between inside and out.

“We didn’t have a clear vision from the very beginning, and that’s when people truly make a difference. With Rubner Haus, we immediately felt we were in good hands. They guided us towards the solutions that suited us best, including the interior details and finishes. We made every decision before construction began, and in the end, everything came together perfectly.”
