Natural elements
on the shores of Lake Garda
Project Brenzone
There are places that choose people even before people choose them. For Hanno and Martina, originally from Düsseldorf, their encounter with Lake Garda was love at first sight. Years later, it evolved into a bold life project: a shift in perspective and the creation of a sanctuary where hospitality is shaped by nature and freedom.

This is how Lageta Apartments came to life – an ambitious architectural vision that is not merely a boutique hotel, but a family story. Five apartments, five elements – Fire, Light, Earth, Wind, and Water – each reflecting the personalities of the children, Calvin, Phil, and John, and their parents.
From the two ground-floor units to the exclusive penthouse on the second floor, featuring over 100 square meters of panoramic terraces that appear to merge seamlessly with the lake.
Together with Rubner Haus, the challenge was to sensitively integrate contemporary sustainable architecture into a historic setting. The original proportions were preserved using materials that speak the language of Garda: “geopietra” (eco-friendly manufactured stone) and dry-stone walls blend into the landscape, while the property’s fourteen ancient olive trees continue to frame the house. Even the color palette, a delicate pastel yellow, engages in a subtle dialogue with the surrounding cobblestones, creating a state of complete visual harmony.
Although the choice of wood stemmed from a practical need – to complete construction quickly and start the business – the owners eventually discovered the priceless value of sustainability. Rubner Haus’s natural raw materials provide not only excellent thermal insulation but also a level of living comfort that can be felt from the very first breath.
Today, Lageta Apartments welcome travelers seeking authenticity, much like Goethe, who called Garda “a wonder of nature.” Thanks to Rubner Haus technology, that wonder can now be experienced from within, wrapped in the warmth of wood and the light of Benaco.
“We chose to build in wood because we wanted to rent out the apartments as soon as possible and therefore needed to complete the construction in a very short time. With the originally planned solid construction, we would have had to wait at least one year longer.”
