A treasure trove for all seasons
Project Val Camonica
In Val Camonica, Northern Italy, between the provinces of Bergamo and Brescia, just minutes from Boario Terme, stands a bright and welcoming single-story house, born from the clients’ desire to create a small retreat, not far from home, to spend weekends and free time with their children and friends.
All the essential spaces needed to be accommodated in the small space available, so that it could be a place where the family could spend a few hours of leisure time or a few days with their guests: two double bedrooms, a welcoming bathroom, and an open-plan living area.
This is why the project optimized the interior layout down to the smallest detail, maximizing functional interior space with minimal waste. The few carefully selected furnishings lend a playful personality to the home and are born from Pierangelo and Stefania’s strong passion for design and artwork, including Rubner partners onsite in the Boutique, such as Agape, Piscine Castiglione, Paghera Giardini, Listone Giordano, and Wonderwall Studios.
The exterior features a stone façade and beautiful sliding glass doors, as well as a garden filled with wildflowers in the summer and a delightful panoramic pool. Always fascinated by Nordic structures, the clients chose to build with the Blockhaus system, where wood is the key to the structure. The importance of wood is particularly evident in the interiors, where more traditional choices, such as the exposed bleached fir roof and walls, blend with details and paneling made from reclaimed wood or a unique, ultra-modern parquet floor with a three-dimensional texture.

All this makes the home a treasure trove to be enjoyed in all seasons, like the colors and variations of the natural environment that surrounds it.
“From the very beginning, we conceived the project as the realization of a ‘treasure trove’ where we could retreat to enjoy the place and the company of the people we cherish; in this perspective, wood as a material seemed like an obvious choice, and when you say wood, you immediately think of Rubner!”
