In the light of the sea
Project Bergeggi
A simple, clean architecture that resembles a discreet observatory, from which one looks at the sea with the forest behind. This beautiful house, that stands in a historic village on the Ligurian Riviera, has a privileged observation point. Designed for others by Monia and Mauro, both architects, it eventually became their own home.
Indeed, it would have been difficult to resist the discreet charm of this totally sustainable wooden house, which develops on a single floor and points to the sea as if through binoculars. A spectacular view envelops the eye: from the large windows in front of the living room you can see the gulf, a castle, a church with its bell tower. Everything is framed by the sky, the sea and olive trees.
The simple and orderly architecture blends perfectly into the territory, immersing itself discreetly in the nature reserve of this area, where it coexists with fallow deer and wild boar. The house develops horizontally, and every single space has an extraordinary light, which gives vitality and at the same time a refuge from the chaos of the city. Everything tastes of a “house by the sea” to be enjoyed all year round, of peace and relaxation.
The interiors are deeply characterized by the presence of the sea, and, with their plastered walls and ceilings, and white furnishings, they show that wood is perfectly suited to this type of context. They wonderfully manage to capture the light and peace that comes from the water.
“We chose Rubner Haus because they know the material they work with better than anyone else, and they are exceptional in prefabrication and on site.”
