Largest and most state-of-the-art sawmill in Eastern Austria
Wood processing has a long-standing tradition in the Austrian village of Rohrbach an der Lafnitz. Records that were found describing this trade date back to the 18th century. Professional operation of sawmills started back in the 19th century.
The company was founded in 1978 and constitutes the cornerstone of today’s Rubner Holzindustrie. Whereas in the early 1990s, the Rubner Group was still a minority shareholder, in 1996 the family-owned company, which is based in southern Tyrol, finally assumed 100% of the company shares. Since 2002 the company has been operating under the name of Rubner Holzindustrie.
Today, Rubner Holzindustrie is the largest and most state-of-the-art sawmill in Eastern Austria and is considered Europe’s leading specialist for solid frame construction timber.
