“Le Vette” Cortina City Hub

Rubner Haus has been commissioned to build the 4-star superior boutique hotel “Heritage Alps Hotel” and four residential buildings within “Le Vette” Cortina Exclusive Mountain Resort and New City Hub, the urban regeneration project that Renco is carrying out, in collaboration with Poolengineering, on behalf of the Municipality of Cortina d’Ampezzo.

Regenerating the heart of Cortina

A new city hub between public and private spaces

“Le Vette” Cortina City Hub stands as one of the most important urban regeneration projects currently underway in the Alpine region. The redevelopment transforms the former railway station area into a multifunctional hub that integrates public services, residential living, hospitality and commercial spaces, contributing structurally to the revitalization of the town center. A project designed for the future, yet firmly rooted in Cortina’s urban and social context.

A future-oriented project

Urban, economic and social value

With a total investment of €98 million, a 28-month construction period, and scheduled completion in 2027, “Le Vette” Cortina City Hub is an example of a public-private partnership focused on sustainable development. The master plan provides for the restoration of over 4,500 m² of public buildings, the creation of approximately 1,000 m² of commercial space, 605 parking spaces, and 22 motorcycle spaces, as well as new civic functions, underground parking, residential, and hospitality facilities. The project not only improves the architectural and functional quality of Cortina’s city center, but also strengthens its tourist appeal and the provision of services for residents and the community. This project is capable of having a lasting impact on the city’s future.

The role of Rubner Haus

Wooden construction for high-quality hospitality and residences

As part of the “Le Vette” project, Rubner Haus was commissioned to build the 4-star superior “Heritage Alps Hotel” boutique hotel and four residential buildings. This central role brings Rubner Haus’s expertise in high-performance wood construction to the heart of Cortina, fostering the dialogue between contemporary architecture and the Alpine landscape, and creating living and hospitality spaces geared towards comfort, quality, and durability.

“‘Le Vette’ Cortina City Hub is an exemplary combination of urban regeneration, architectural quality, and long-term vision,” says Martin Oberhofer, CEO of Rubner Haus.”Being chosen to build the Boutique Hotel and residential complex means making a concrete contribution to the transformation of a symbolic location, providing our expertise in sustainable timber construction. Projects like this demonstrate how construction can generate lasting economic value, respecting the natural context and responding to the new demands of high-end living and hospitality.”

Sustainability as a concrete vision

Certifications, efficiency and environmental responsibility

The entire work strictly follows the principles of LEED and CasaClima certification. From site management to the use of eco-compatible materials and advanced technological solutions for energy efficiency and indoor comfort, sustainability is a structural element of the project. Timber construction represents a conscious choice, capable of reducing environmental impact while ensuring outstanding performance over time.
