The complex comprises a total of 51 modules, 49 of which are dedicated living spaces, while the remaining two are communal areas and administrative units.
In order to utilise the geometry and topography of the property in the most efficient way possible, the modules were distributed over four three-storey buildings.
Two of the buildings on the north side are connected by a single central staircase.
Contractor Städtische Wohnungsbau GmbH, Göttingen DE

The other buildings are lined up parallel to each other, but slightly offset, to accommodate a spacious green recreation area in the centre of the structure. The external areas of the individual buildings are laid out gallery-style; moreover, each building has two staircases to comply with the local fire protection regulations in Lower Saxony.
The construction of this housing complex meets two types of residential building demands at once: on the one hand, the university’s need for student accommodation, and on the other hand, the need for public housing assigned to the city of Göttingen. As soon as the need for units for public housing is eliminated, the entire complex will become part of the university campus, offering accommodation to 150 students.
The architectural concept was realised by Rubner Objektbau in collaboration with the Venetian studio SERGIO PASCOLO ARCHITECTS.
