Official start of construction for "Roots" in Hamburg.

  • Garbe Immobilien-Projekte selects wood as the building material for the climate-neutral redensification of the Elbquartier.
  • Use of the two 7 and 18-storey buildings by the German Wildlife Foundation and over 180 private residential units.
  • Architecture Störmer Murphy and Partners. Timber construction work from 2022, planned completion 2023.
  • Consulting in the construction planning and extended timber construction services by Rubner Holzbau Augsburg.

With 16,200 m² of prefabricated wall elements and a total of around 5,500 m³ of timber used, the building is intended to be a best-case for multi-storey construction, short construction times through maximum prefabrication and sustainable use of materials
